ENTRY 28: BLOCKE

I write this by kerosene lamp, in a situation I'd never have thought
would happen. We have found an ally from our past, wonder of all
wonders. It makes our quest seem less lonely. That's really all we've
discovered, though I'll include a bit more information here.

My worries of last time have been mostly allayed; our friend returned to
us, though more than a bit changed. He doesn't seem to want to talk about
what happened while he was out.

We decided to try and anonymously rent a house through our usual
contact here.  Two people went to his house to try and contact him.
They were unsucessful, but did notice that they were being followed.
One split off, and followed the pursuer to a house.

We decided to split up; some people went for further investigation of
the pursuer's house, and others went to Shepard's to obtain a temporary
house rental. It turned out that an old acquaintance was renting the
house, and followed our party because he recognized them. His own plans
had not worked out as he had hoped, and we all felt that a sort of

So while we are retaining the house we got through Shepard's, as a
front of sorts, we're actually staying with this new ally. He seems to
be very knowledgable on the magical front; he knows some useful
wardings, and we are all eager to begin information transfer in that
respect. That is our status right now; I will continue this letter when
I have more to report.
