ENTRY 21: AND NOW, OUR TROUBLES CONTINUE...
-------------------------------------------

We join our friends in various places, all reeling from the shock of
recent events......

(At this point, Elizabeth was working out the aforementioned deal with
her father.)

Adrian, after releasing himself from prison, got in touch with
everyone and arranged for a meeting at his flat later that
afternoon. He then went to Smythe's flat (planning on getting Smythe
some reading material). He discovered that it had been broken into,
and that the book Smythe had been reading was gone (though other
valuables remained). The frightening part was that the apartment had
been broken into through the window, and it was a 3rd floor flat. He
then went to the hospital, to inform Smythe.

He then went back to his own place (4th floor), where he discovered
that it, too, had been broken into. And his book, as well, was
missing. The entire window was missing. He called the police, who were
less than helpful. ("Wow, this was a first rate job....")

Vincent went back to the priory, where he learned that someone had
attempted a break-in the night before there as well. (Unsuccessfully.)
He then went to visit Elizabeth, and they went to a tea shop before
heading to Adrian's; they felt like they were being watched. Elizabeth
went back to her place and checked with Charles about attempted
break-ins; none had happened. She warned him about the possibility,
and learned that Jonathan (the house-boy) had died from
complications. Still feeling that they were being watched, Vincent and
Elizabeth walked to Adrian's.

---

Katya called Don from a pay phone, and asked him to tell the others
(in a place where he wouldn't be overheard) that she would be at the
Blue Pyramid later that night. He then went to Adrian's flat.

---

At Adrian's flat..... Everyone shared information. Eventually, the
group decided to hire a Pinkerton to follow the truck, which may be
showing up that night. His name was Trevyn McDowell.

---

Later that night, at the Blue Pyramid....

The Pinkerton, Trevyn, took Elizabeth, Vincent, and Adrian with him
in the car. He parked it in a dark alley with a view of the bar. The
total darkness freaked Vincent out, at which point he left the car,
and ran into Don, going into the bar with Arissa (his Egyptian
hooker). Everyone else in the car waited. And waited. And waited.

Katya found a good vantage point on the roof, and after some
difficulty saw Trevyn's car. She then waited. And waited. And waited.

Don and Vincent saw the woman that Elizabeth and Vincent had talked
to, dancing, and they requested her in a private room again. Vincent,
once again, freaked out. Through Arissa, they managed to figure out
that the dancer had nothing more to tell them, though Vincent managed
to get her to arrange to meet him at the Soup Kitchen at 5:30 that
morning. After that, she continued stripping. Vincent continued
praying in the corner.

Eventually, Katya sneaked down to Trevyn's car. He noticed her, and
acted on that in a very impressive and sly way. Elizabeth motioned for
her to go inside, and she did. The group in the car left, arranging to
meet again the next day.

Once there, she and Vincent talked for a little while, catching up on
what happened. Don gave her a note from Elizabeth. Don and Vincent
left with Arissa separately from Katya.

Katya successfully evaded pursuit on the way home.

Vincent and Don caught up with Elizabeth, and everyone there went to
the priory, where Vincent told Elizabeth about the meeting with the
dancer. Elizabeth and Vincent decided to stay up for that. Everyone
else wisely slept.

Not much new information was gained from the meeting with the
dancer. She said that the truck drove up to the back, and that when it
did, many men left the back room and got into the truck. She told
Vincent and Elizabeth that there was no organized resistance; everyone
was too afraid. She extracted a promise for the head of whoever killed
her boyfriend, Abahij Nafir.

---

Sometime during that night, Smythe had a visitor, who caused him
excruciating pain. He told it the following:

- Question: Where were the artifacts stolen from Tewfik's?

 - Bank of England. Smythe said that Dr. Essex probably had the
   key.

When Smythe woke up, he had forgotten everything about the visit
except that it had happened, and that he had told someone or something
the above. He was also covered in 1st and 2nd degree burns from head
to toe.

---

The next day, Don took a trip to the Naze, and scouted around
Gavigan's estate. It was huge, with a stone fence and a guard house.

Elizabeth got a letter from Smythe, informing her of the information
leak. She went to the British Museum to meet with Adrian. Eventually,
all but Katya met to decide what to do.

And that's where we left it!
