Aurelia Primus, the Regal of Sensation, was my character
in our first two Nobilis campaigns. These were her final
statistics and background. (She was a Citizen of our
chancel Storm's Eye, and a Roman female aged
approximately 27 with dark brown hair, a prominent nose,
and creamy skin.)

Gifts
|
Elemental: You are so close to your estate that you
can replace your body with a construct of your domain, and
turn yourself into a living lava or telephones or bacteria
or whatever your domain happens to be.
Immortal: You can only die in four ways - if your
Imperator is slain, if you are struck with certain
extremely rare Excrucian weapons, *possibly* if you commit
suicide, or possibly if something completely unexpected
comes from beyond the known Realms with unknown
powers. You are both Eternal (you don't age; hunger,
thirst, and the like are optional) and Durant (Difficult
to injure and heal quickly) as well.

Handicaps
|
Affiliation - Hell: Corruption is the highest
principle. Suffering is a form of corruption. Power
justifies itself.
Competitive: If, in a situation, there is a way for
Aurelia to show that she's better than the other party,
she will do so (even at considerable risk to herself).
Lack of Willpower: Offered the chance to experience
a new sensation herself, or if another party requests that
they experience a new sensation, she cannot resist.
Can be Summoned: Her ties to the sensory leave her
open to some attacks she would otherwise be able to
handle. There are two intricate spice boxes in existence;
each a puzzle holding in a piece of Zurphia, a spice of
inordinate intoxicating power. Should either of these
puzzles be solved, and the spice used in a dish, Aurelia
is summoned and only freed at the allowance of her
summoner.
Tied to Earth: She can't stay away from her
once-home for long. She must spend at least 5 days out of
every human month there. (Though, in practice, she's there
much more frequently.)
This Again?: She can never perform the same basic
sex act in the same style more than once in a given 3 week
period. (Thanks, Meon.)
Cheap Date, Argumentative Family: (Family-wide
flaws) All family members are "cheap dates" extremely
easily affected by mind-altering substances. They are also
quite prone to arguing, drunk or not.

Mission Goal: (5 points) To help humans ever-expand
their realm of sensation. She loves exposing hypocrisy in
those who claim to be pure, and tempting those who are at
war with themselves.
Anchor 1: (3 points) Emeril Lagasse. Duh.
Anchor 2: (2 points) Bill Clinton. His obvious
enjoyment of the advantages his station gives him,
combined with his obvious love of the sensory, make him a
favorite. (Besides, he's fantastic in bed...)
Anchor 3: (3 points) Angela Bryer. She's *cool*.
Fine Food and Wine: (7 points) Her preoccupation
with taste has only increased over the millenia.

Background
|
Although beautiful by the standards of her time, Aurelia
intrigues the modern eye rather than inspiring any
admiration of her beauty. She is a classically Roman
woman, perhaps just past her mid-twenties. While she can
be hard at times, generally she is seductively happy, and
eager to help others achieve a wider array of sensory
experiences.
Open about her background, she has told those who are
interested much of her mortal life. She was born into a
noble Roman family with a long tradition of politics, in
the first century BCE. After a classical female education,
she decided to enter the culinary arts (much to the
chagrin of her mother). With an intuitive understanding of
the harmonies of texture and taste, she rose quickly in
the ranks, and was soon serving the Emperor and Senate in
her native Rome. With the decadence popular at the time,
she found an appreciative audience for her feasts, which
highlighted exotic ingredients that few but the rulers
could afford. (Unlike others of the time, she chose
ingredients that not only were infamous, but which would
taste good, and complement the other dishes.)
Her meals gained a reputation; tales were told about the
orgies and arguments she could spark simply by combining
the right foods in the right way. A naturally competitive
person, she began a slow increase in the decadence of her
feasts, ever searching for more exotic ingredients. Her
expeditions eventually led her to the Chancel, where the
Marketplace was in its early incarnations. Her desires
made a distinct impression on the Marketplace and, after a
time, the exotic food and spice stall was one of the best
equipped. This continued for two or three years before
Alakh-Mu EnNobled her, for reasons she is
uncharacteristically reluctant to talk about.
The Millenia have been kind to her; she appears not to
have aged at all (though her stola has begun looking more
and more out-of-place). She is rarely in the Chancel,
preferring to spend her time among humans, still her
favorite subject. (Occasionally, she has been away from
the Chancel for extended periods, returning moody and
seclusive.) Over the years, her fascination with food and
drink as methods of manipulation hasn't waned, though
she's supplemented them with other forms of sensation. She
has a particular fondness for those weilding power that
give in to their hedonistic urges, encouraging a move away
from (what she sees as) hypocritical morality-speak in the
masses.
